“We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.”

Charles R. Swindoll

Opportunity is everywhere, but we have been trained since childhood to say “no” or to look the other way. All our lives we have been taught to fear the unknown, to avoid strangers, and to play it safe.

Opportunity can come as a phone call or as an email from a long lost friend. Sometimes it is casual encounter in the supermarket or at church. Other times you almost step on it, but you choose to swerve at the last minute to avoid the risk. Even the darkest of situations can provide opportunity.

And, there lies the rub — with the risk resides the opportunity. Appearances can be deceiving and opportunity can be ugly at first or, at least, cleverly disguised. The sports page is full of inspirational stories of fallen heroes who bounce back to glory after injury or defeat. Something tells me Tiger Woods will return to his winning ways and may become a better person because of his adversity. .

For the next 48 hours, I challenge you to remain on the lookout for new opportunity.  When you confront it, just say “says!”
