Trust Me?
Trust is one of those invisible forces that makes life work. You can’t see it, but you know when it’s there and when it’s not. At its core, trust is the belief that someone (or something) will do what they say, act with integrity, and keep your best interests in mind.
So why do we trust? Often, it’s built on consistency. If a friend shows up when they say they will, or a company delivers the product it promised, our confidence in them grows. Over time, repeated reliability creates trust. We also trust based on values. When we feel someone shares our outlook or is motivated by something bigger than just self-interest.
Earning trust takes time. It’s built in small moments: keeping promises, being transparent, admitting mistakes, and showing respect. Lose it, though, and the damage can be instant. Broken promises, dishonesty, or even small lapses in integrity can wipe away years of trust in seconds.
The hard truth? Trust is fragile. It’s slow to build, fast to break, and even harder to rebuild. But it’s also the glue that holds together friendships, teams, companies, and even society. Without it, everything starts to fall apart.
In the end, trust isn’t given "It’s earned, protected, and proven every day.
